I am a teacher, playwright and director who specialises in youth theatre. I started directing while studying English at the University of Oxford and have subsequently trained with the University of York, the Globe Theatre Education Department and the Royal Shakespeare Company in the UK.
I have worked as a drama teacher at schools in the UK, Germany, China, Thailand and Switzerland. I also work for the International Schools' Theatre Association (www.ista.co.uk) and have created plays with students in Australia, Uzbekistan, Kuala Lumpur, China, Bucharest, UK, Malta and Switzerland.
As a director, I love the magic that occurs when weaving together the strands of a play. From epic musicals to devised physical theatre to intimate storytelling, I have directed dozens of shows with young actors.
Storytree is an English language youth theatre based in Lausanne
We run drama courses, holiday camps and put on plays with young people
We encourage ensemble spirit and focus on developing original plays
I worked in sales and marketing for many years coordinating large scale corporate events and promoting products and conferences before moving into a school environment. Recently, I have been working with children who have language and learning challenges and helping them both holistically and academically. Shakespeare has always been a passion of mine and I am thrilled about using my skill set to work with the youth theatre company, Storytree, in bringing the cultural phenomenon of 'Shakespeare in the Park' to Lausanne.
